The 2019 Air was a refresh of the 2018 redesign. Weve seen alot of these over the years. Had one come in from Seven Hills where the screen cracked after the owners bag fell over. Impact right in the corner spread cracks across the display. Housing was in good shape so LCD only repair worked out.

The 2019 Air is the same design as 2018. Pretty solid build but the thin profile means drops can cause housing damage. We had one where the hinge area got bent from a fall. Full assembly was the only repair option but it came out looking like new.
True Tone adjusts display colour based on ambient lighting. On the A1932 the calibration data lives in the display housing. As such LCD only repair keeps True Tone working because that housing stays in place. Full assembly replacement means new hardware and the True Tone data doesnt transfer across.

Impact cracks from drops are the main thing. The display fractures on impact. Pressure damage is another common one where something gets pressed against the closed lid. The LCD fails but the glass can look fine from outside.
