Full display replacement is needed when housing damage is present. Frame dents, bent corners, liquid exposure, structural problems. When these issues exist we replace the entire display assembly. New housing, new panel, new camera, the lot.
This approach costs more than LCD only because youre getting a complete assembly. But damaged housing cant hold a new panel properly. Better to replace the whole thing and have it work right.
